Do you like the new Theme?

Finally! Plenty of customisations and modifications to the original theme files, but I think it’s worth every sweat!

There may be small minor things needed tweaking here and there, but feel free to let me know if you find some anomalies.

This theme should last for a long time as I’ve fallen in love with every single part of it :) (You may or may not disagree, as I can’t unfortunately make everyone happy)

Some highlights on the new Theme:

  • AdSense Links on Navigational, encouraging more clicks (mwahaha)
  • Plenty of width space for the post, easier for you to read and easier for me to write
  • A mixture of 2 and 3 columns on the sidebar, fulfilling all this blog ever needs
  • More space on 125×125 ads (some of you hate the 3 columns of 125×125, but it’s necessary to prevent from scrolling the page down too much)
  • Nicer look on the Comments area (easy on the eye)
  • No more white dull look (Well, more like a black-grayish look now, which some people may hate)
  • I love the calendar bit; even though it doesn’t necessary give a useful info, it makes the pages look fresher
  • If someone diggs a post (Digg a post to try ^^), it’ll appear nicely next to my calendar if a person comes through the Digg link.

  • The blog is really ready now for private advertising (with $ and not Entrecard credits), which I’m aiming next with the OIOPublisher plug-in (seems like the most popular one). Although I’m still not sure how much I want to charge per week yet. Do you want to be my first private advertiser? :)
  • The footer leaves me plenty of space for the future (not sure what I want to put there at the moment besides my money making recommendations)
  • And many more bits of pieces that I change for the better!

PS to Entrecarders: I removed my “U Drop I Follow” badge as it doesn’t fit on the design :( Sorry, Lee! I’ll still reciprocate your drops though as much as I can. Try not to drop during the weekend though *hint*

I like it, it is impressive. You should never say never, we all find some or other excuse to keep changing our themes. I do agree though, this one should last you a while.

it’s pretty good, just doesn’t fit in 1024×768 screens, I see half of the 3rd ads.

TBH , i don’t see much difference between it and your older one
it’s just basically the same [ black and white ]
yes i’ve noticed the black has a different degree ,
but imho , i think you should turn back to the original one until you fix the Css issue in that one coz the width doesnt work for every one

there is fit to width button in opera but when i did that the theme was screwed and everything just got into the next one
this screenshot is after the fitting to width

but in the normal width it looks good ,

Update , the screenshot above is only in opera but ie8 worked good after setting the width ,

another thing .. the footer is little empty [ but that isn't theme related ]

Thanks for all of your good feedback, guys

I guess I’ll reduce my blog’s width as it has become everyone’s problem. (If I set my desktop to 1024×768, I can still see the whole blog though, so it’s kinda weird..) I guess it’s because I have a Widescreen monitor..

I’ll make the changes over the weekend (to reduce the width and also to fix Safari issue.. the sponsor area looks horrible!)

It’s all messed up when I use a safari browser. All the 125 ads are in the 5th or 6th column

Yeah I know.
I’ve made the theme narrower *phew that was quite tedious* and also fixed the Safari issue.

It now looks great (I hope) in Safari, Firefox, and IE. Please let me know if the theme is still too wide in a 1024×768 resolution. If you’re still on 800×600…err.. I’m sorry to disappoint you :(
@Van: I think it was caused by my cache plug-in, WP-SuperCache (I may have forgotten to refresh the cache when changing the theme)

in 1024×768 looks good now, but still there’s that width scroll bar (had it on my blog as well, but fixed) I am almost sure it’s because of the footer (”my money makers”) light grey area is too wide. Should be very easy to fix in CSS if you want, but it still looks good.

Aaah, so the adsense links are intentional!

Well, I’ve voiced my concerns and likes on this theme, but I do like it. The last gripe I have is the CAPTCHA image is below the “Submit My Comment” and if I hadn’t scrolled further down; I would have missed it. I think placing it before the “Submit” button would be a good idea. :)

And of course, I hit the “Submit” button without typing in the CAPTCHA. -_-”

Fair point on the CAPTCHA, Maria. Since I can post comments without seeing the CAPTCHA (as an admin), I barely pay attention to it as long as testing it once with a “guest” access.

I’ll have a look around on better solution (or I can simply hack the plug-in to change the order)

I miss my old spam plug-in now, as few spams have started to pour in :(
