I don’t like the spacing difference between the site ads and the EC ad. Sure, placing IDUF badge elsewhere would look funny, but perhaps you could switch to the wider EC kind of ad display instead?

The ad links at the top look like they could be part of the menu and maybe that’s intentional, but for me, I don’t like that the ads are more highlighted than the menu itself.

I like the search bar and options. Nifty.

Not digging the look of the RSS/email stuff. Looks a little out of place with that particular curved-corner background.

And…. those are my comments for now. =)

I have to agree with what Maria had to say about the Entrecard. It does sort of break your design as it is at present. The rest I like, it looks just grand. If your new theme loads quickly you would have already won me over.

    Forget them! I like it.

    It’s clean and professional.

…just maybe clean up the spacing on the EC ad.

  6. @Maria: Thanks so much for the great feedback. I’ve made a few changes to it (see the updated screenshot above)

To others: Thanks for the support, too. Yes it’ll be the same gray-ish look (which may look dull for some people) like what it is now.

I’ll try to mix in some colours there to spice things up a bit (not sure if it’s gonna look good, though)

I like the template, but not the sidebar, too wide. You could make it, so it only fits 2 ads instead of 3.

  8. That design is definitely better than the current one but I have to agree with Infotblog that 2×3 ads would be better as those section is what really breaks the design.

    Just my 2 cents…

Looks nice. The banner space on header section and three columns of 125×125 ad will give you more space for ads.

I like your new theme. Where do you get this theme?

  12. @BlogForBeginners & infotblog: Well I actually modified the theme so that I have a wider sidebar.. (I can put more stuffs in there, like 2-3 columns). I’ll probably re-visit /re-design it.

@EarnBlogger: That’s what I was planning to do lol, but if it’s going to break the design…

@ameo: lol thanks, hopefully no more annoying errors come up on your face now! :D
@SteveYu: I’m not telling you! haha j/k. It’s called “LightBreaker” (I saw this first from Kushmoney’s blog). I forgot where I got it but if you google “lightbreaker wordpress theme”, you should see it anywhere

  13. Maria Says:

It’s better in the second version, except now the ads look like they’re a sub menu of your main menu. Lol.

Just lose the You drop I follow banner thingy which everyone misconstrues to think it means you reciprocate all drops anyway. Besides which it’s aggravating to click that darned thing when you’re trying to just drop on your card and go to the perpetual whine blog. THen your top 125×125 will look more uniform.

I like the touch of dark as a background with the white foreground, but please use BLACK text — high contrast text is so much easier to read.

The new theme is using a fair amount of real estate for content which is my big thing. I dislike themes that give over most of the real estate to blank space or ads. There needs to be some balance between all three with white space given the least amount, but SOME as if there is no white space, it just looks cluttered. This theme has that nice balance.
