    hey,

nice review, im currently thinking of grabbing one under 3’s contract etc, is that who your with for this phone?

also, you mentioned you had quite a few apps running before it crashed.. how many are we talking. more than 10 or less than 5?

  2. Thanks :) Well I bought it outright from a shop (Organiser World), as I can save more with pre-paid than a 23-months contract!

Well I had like 5 apps (PhatNotes, BibleReader, umm can’t remember what else). But I’ve closed them all (I’ve checked no more running progrmas), and it still says memory left was 3 mb so I have to do a soft reset :(

Thanks for the review! I think the iPhone is too overyhped

  4. I can confirm that my free memory is running constant now. An application seemed to cause memory leaks on my phone. After uninstalling it, I’ve never had any problem with the memory anymore!

    Hi Michael,
Nice review. So is this the phone to go for when requirements like reading pdfs, browsing net and emailing and multimedia applications like watching movies and music come along will be great? Please help me out at this part cuz its been a while since i been searching for a pda and this one seems to fit my bill. (According to your review).
    :)
    Thanks a lot.

  7. Hi ATH007, thanks for dropping by.

Well I’m not sure if there are new ones that are better than HTC P3600i. I can say & confirm that this PDA can do what you list, but since I only use the phone for phone, taking notes, alarm, task/appointments, I can’t really give an honest opinion about it.

Watching movies + reading pdfs.. are you sure? The screen is quite small. Maybe try going to a shop first and have a feel about the phone :)

    Hi Michael,
Thanks a lot for that reply.
Movies, as in the sense when u just roam around u mite spare a look or two… and reading pdf’s ..that i do a lot.. too much infact. actually i got a friends iPhone right now. Its a good phone but not great. No office apps, no video recorder but browsing net and reading pdfs are fantastic. I want something that works around the defects of iPhone and gives me what i want. And as again, P3600 seems to be decent enuff for the job. Btw, how much did it cost u?

    Thanks.

  9. I’d prefer to play games on it than watching movies on the tiny screen :D But I guess it’s just a matter of preference heh heh.

iPhone wins because of its sexy look (my opinion). I’d rather get this phone which can do more than what iPhone does. Besides, if you install PointUI (free) or SPB Mobile Shell, you pretty much have a PDA what looks kinda like iPhone interface :)

I bought it around AUD $900-$1000 at that time I think.. it surely is cheaper now :(

    Hi Mike,

    thanks for the good review.

you said that the PDA comes with built in GPS, so that’s mean we just need to download for the GPS software..and it will ready to go?

How’s the quality of the music when you hear it using headphones?

    thanks mate,
    davy

  11. Thanks Dave.

Well, the GPS software (like TomTom, Destinator, etc) unfortunately are not free.. technically yes you can download them, but I won’t go any further than that here :)

Once you have the GPS software and purchase the map, it’s good to go! And using it will be totally free. It’ll take some time to get the initial lock though, unlike the GPS that you see inside cars.

The quality of music is great with the headphone, but of course, it can’t beat my Logitech 5.1 speakers :) Maybe you can give it a try on the shop, I’m sure the shop assistant will be happy to give you a try
