Call of Duty World at War is a Top-Notch First-Person Shooter For The DS! April 22, 2009 Jeffrey B. Suttle (Lumberbridge , NC) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
Call of Duty World at War is a insanely awesome DS FPS game.
Story -
You will play in the feet of three soldiers each from the American , British , and Russian Campaign. As the Americans , you will fight against the strong Japanese army. As the British and Russians , you will fight against the Fascist German Military. You pretty much know the whole WWII story about each campaign.
Gameplay -
The game has a extremely nice feel to it , and is very intense .. but you will hit moments where it just feels like shooting gallery , but other than that the game is very intense and satisfying.
Presentation -
Having a organic and outdoor enviroment for any shooter just makes it feel a whole lot better , and this game exceeds at this certain thing.
Im sure it wasn't easy to fit such a large , organic enviroment into a such a small chip. This game is extremely pretty , but not perfect , but still very good.
Controls -
The Controls are absoluty smooth on this FPS DS game. Every action you have to prefrom is on the touch-pad. Trust me , this game excells at controlls.
Multiplayer -
Call of Duty 4 for the DS didn't have online play , but thats not the case here this game has some fun online multiplayer. Allowing to play with up to 3 other people locally or around the world! There are Many gametypes such as : Deathmatch , Team Deathmatch , Capture the Flag , and a couple of other gametypes. There are over 10 maps to choose from . This game has absolutly Solid multiplayer.

#1 DS game of the year November 13, 2008 Patricia Gasper 17 out of 20 found this review helpful
Just to tell you before I start going on about how great this game is, I'm not p. gasper, I'm her son. I got this game the day it came out, and I am about 3/4 of the way through it. I've experienced enough to tell you that this game is probely the best game you will ever buy. The realism has improved from COD4, such as seeing your hands when reloading, and the soldiers' faces are not flat(Except for the Soviets)You do have to get used to the less modern weapons, like the Tommy instead of a M16. The tank and bomber levels do take a little time master. There is an exclusive British campain on the game that adds to the reasons to buy it. Even though it is not as thrilling as the 360 version,it is still part of the greatest war game franchise. Don't believe me, try it.
One last thing, the revolver and the Soviet SMG and pistol are the most powerful weapons in the game. I haven't used all of the weapons in the game, but these three are probly the most reliable.
Very fun January 1, 2009 D. Fraser 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
When I first saw this game, while looking for a DS game that my kid and I could play, I was hesitant because we have all of the COD games for our 360. I didn't want to waste money by buying a dupicate game I would not be happy with. I took a chance and am glad I did. First, this version bares little resembance to the larger versions made for ps3 or 360. Pretty much everything is different and this is of course made for the DS. It is very cool and a lot of fun. My gripe was that I thought we could play multiplayer off of 1 card- a great + for games like MarioKart for DS or the new CARS. Well, I splurged and bought a second game card right here on Amazon. Now my kid and I each have our own and we play against each other- VERY FUN!!!! I highly recommend this game, it is a real hoot!
Great Game! December 16, 2009 A. Witter (Somewhere, USA) I enjoyed this game very much. With three male children and a husband, in order to keep up with the things they like, I decided to play this game on the Nintendo DSi that my oldest son purchased for me as a gift. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased the same game for XBox 360 that my husband and I are going to play together.
best game ever! February 28, 2010 Geoffrey Reynolds i loved getting this game. it involved many fighting scenes that were very enjoyable. i beat the game in two days and wondered what to do. you can go back and play the battles over and over as many times as you like. you can go as american, britan, or soviet. the effects are better than more ds games but definately not the best.
