4 out of 5 stars Best stain pre-treatment ever!   September 6, 2010

I found one of these while unpacking some boxes after moving. Although I do not remember where it originally came from, I don't know how I did without it before! Most of the time, I use home remedies to remove tough food stains, because supermarket stain removers just couldn't quite get rid of them. This stain stick works so well that I don't need them anymore! Not long ago, I found a week-old barbeque stain on one of my t-shirts. Normally, I'd have to apply dish soap at least twice in order to get the stain out. This time, I rubbed the stain stick onto the spot, and it came out with the first wash.

In addition to its effectiveness, I also love the convenience of this product. With spray stain removers, the garment has to be washed within five minutes, or else the clothes may become discolored. That's inconvenient, because if I don't have enough time or a big enough load of laundry, I might not be able to wash the garment right then. With the stain stick, I can just rub the paste onto the stain, give it a few days to work, and then toss the garment into the wash when I'm ready.

Unfortunately, I've read that this product is no longer available. I have a hard time believing that, because I've seen so many good reviews. Surely the company wouldn't pull a popular product, now would they? We reviewers ought to write letters to the company and see if it can be persuaded to sell the old formula again. Until then, I guess I'll just have to ration the stain stick I do have.
