Product Description ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4 is the most effective protection you can find to combat today's huge volumes of Internet and email threats. It provides comprehensive antivirus and antispyware protection without affecting your computer's performance. Using advanced ThreatSense technology, ESET NOD32 Antivirus proactively protects you from new attacks, even during the critical first hours when other vendors' products aren't aware the attack even exists. ESET NOD32 Antivirus detects and disables both known and unknown viruses, trojans, worms, adware, spyware, rootkits and other Internet threats. ESET NOD32 Antivirus is also one of the fastest antivirus solutions, so fast you won't even notice it running. And it's both incredibly easy to use yet simple to tailor for your specific needs. Smarter Scanner - Threats don't always enter your network in ways you expect. ESET NOD32 Antivirus inspects SSL-encrypted communication channels like HTTPS and POP3S and intelligently scans compressed files to find hidden threats other products miss. Clean and Safe Email - Email scanning for Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail, and other POP3/IMAP mail clients, ensuring your email is free of viruses and other threats. Removable Media Security - Threats can enter your PC from removable media such as USB thumb drives. For self-running media, ESET NOD32 Antivirus scans autorun.inf and associated files when the medium is inserted, in addition to scanning any file on any removable device when it is accessed, or during a full-scan of the media. System Tools - ESET SysInspector and ESET SysRescue simplify diagnosing and cleaning of infected systems by allowing deep scans of system processes to find hidden threats, and creating bootable rescue CD/DVD or USB drives to help you repair an infected computer. Self Defense - ESET NOD32 Antivirus has built-in technology to prevent malicious software

I Got My System Speed and Stability Back February 10, 2010 GPS guy (United States) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
ESET solved daily crashes and terrible slowness on a computer that ran like a champ until my former anti-virus reportedly crippled it. This isn't my first rodeo. Over many years I've used Norton, McAffee, and Kaspersky, amongst others. Without getting into why I fired Norton and McAffee, I used Kaspersky for at least three years on three computers. Finally, my primary computer, an XP Pro with major processor speed came to its knees shortly after I installed Service Pack 3. Try as I might, I couldn't cure the problem. After several months of daily crashes and unbelievably slow operation, I took the computer to the local specialists expecting to spend big bucks. Imagine my surprise when they charged me next to nothing to remove Kaspersky and install ESET. I was told that ESET has solved similar problems for many of their customers. Sure, this thing costs more than its competitors but it does what it's supposed to do: it protects your computer and never lets you know that it's there. Buy it and don't look back!
Lighter and more customizable than Norton or Trend Micro September 8, 2009 Franz J. Schafer 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you are tired of bloated security programs then this one is for you. ESET has had a 100% positive record of no false positives and uses very few resources.
Everything I Was Looking For August 3, 2009 T. Kryst 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am a brand new user of ESET NOD32 v.4 on my HP Touchsmart tablet (64 bit) with Vista Home Premium. It loaded and ran as quickly and easily as anything I have loaded on this platform. I bought it partly because [...] claims it runs the lightest (uses least system resources) of anything comparable and is one of the best in virus detection.
I do not understand the problems some others on this forum have described. This package is everything I had hoped for. I have used an earlier version of Norton which would slow my system to a crawl whenever it operated, which usually seemed to be whenever I was in the middle of something important. More recently I was using last year's version of McAfee Antivirus with its user interface that seemed as though it were designed to annoy as much as possible. NOD32 has none of these problems. You can specify the update schedule and the scan schedule, and best of all, you can have it scan in the background at a low priority (why didn't anyone think of that before?!). I can now play DVD's on my tablet while scanning files and not know the difference (I tried it just to see if it would work). As far as I am concerned, there are no drawbacks to this product.
Works good for me July 14, 2009 J. Adair 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Been using nod32 for a couple of years now, first on Vista 64-bit and now on Windows 7 64-bit. Haven't experienced any issues, so not sure why a couple of previous users did. Prefer it because the detection percentage is one of the highest combined with a very light client that doesn't load a bunch of extra junk. And the licensing model is one of the best, no extra charges for upgrades.
Best AV is the one you never notice November 30, 2009 R. O. Gerena (Brooklyn, NY USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After using Norton for several years and noticing how it constantly would drain more and more of my system resources I decided to get rid of it. I did some research and Nod32 came up at the top of many lists of great AV software so I picked it up.
Installation was easy and I've been running it for about 3 weeks now without any issues. It protects my computer and runs quietly in the background without making a dent in my system resources.
Overall, this thing is awesome.
